Longtime Nikiski resident Larry Lee Fox died Friday, April 14, 2000, at Providence Medical Center in Anchorage. He was 60.
A memorial potluck will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fox residence in Nikiski.
Mr. Fox was born Sept. 20, 1939, in Manistique, Mich.
After moving to Nikiski in 1977, he worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Alaska oil fields until retiring in 1995. Mr. Fox enjoyed playing cards with his good friend, Hank, and playing cribbage at the Nikiski Senior Center.
The eldest child of each of his daughters were born on his birthday.
"He was a wonderful grandpa and the best father-in-law a person could have. He will be missed by his family very much," his family said.
Mr. Fox is survived by his wife and companion of 14 years, Joanne Fox of Nikiski; two daughters, Wendy Logan and Carrie Haeg, both of Nikiski; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Monica Fox of Nikiski; the mother of his children, Carol Fox of Kenai; grandchildren Christina and Sarah Haeg of Homer, Devin and Sharlena Fox and Brandon and Chase Logan, all of Nikiski; mother, Horace Fox; three sisters and eight brothers, all of whom reside in the Lower 48; and longtime friend, Hank McGahan of Nikiski.
Arrangements were by the Anchorage Funeral Home.
