Earthquakes rattle area southwest of Adak,

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Two earthquakes rattled an area 150 miles southwest of Adak on Tuesday.

The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said the first quake at 1:54 p.m. was 25 miles deep with a magnitue of 6.0. The quake was not large enough to generate a tsunami.

The second was a 5.3 magnitude quake at 3:26 p.m.

Neither quake was felt by Adak residents.
