Author to speak at library

The Kenai Community Library will present Alaska writer Dana Stabenow, who will speak on the topic, "Low Tide and Libraries," today at 6:30 p.m.

Red Cross to hold disaster training

The American Red Cross is recruiting and training volunteers to help in the community during times of disaster. Disaster training will be held Tuesday, April 30 and May 2. For more information, call 262-4541.

Make-A-Wish Foundation looking for volunteers

The Make-A-Wish Foundation has a growing need for wish-granting volunteers throughout the state. Volunteer training will be held Tuesday at the Soldotna Bed and Breakfast and April 25 at the Land's End Resort in Homer. Bagley to speak at Homer chamber

Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor Dale Bagley will speak at the next Homer Chamber of Commerce luncheon, to be held at noon Tuesday at the Best Western Bidarka Inn in Homer. Cost of the luncheon is $10.

SBDC offering business seminars

The Small Business Development Council will hold a seminar entitled, "Finding the Money: Strategies and Sources of Capital," from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Red Diamond Center. Cost is $15.

On April 25, the SBDC is sponsoring a seminar entitled, "Business Grants for Developing Technologies." This seminar will run from 1 until 4 p.m. at the Red Diamond Center, suite 16. For more information, call Lou at 262-7497.

PDK to hold banquet

Phi Delta Kappa will hold an "Outstanding Contributions to Education" banquet April 25 at 6 p.m. at the Kenai Merit Inn. For more information, call 260-5514.

Men's community dinner planned

A men's community dinner will be held April 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Nikiski Church of the Nazarene. The dinner is free and open to men of all ages.

Boys and Girls Club holding soccer registration

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula is taking registration for the summer soccer season, which begins June 6 and runs through July 27, for children ages 4 through 18. Registration can be done in person at the Kenai Clubhouse Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. or by fax at 283-8190. For more information, call 283-2682.
