Homer Elks holding blood drive

The Homer Elks and the Blood Bank of Alaska will sponsor a blood drive Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Homer Elks Lodge. For more information, call 260-5672.

Bike show planned

The Kenai Peninsula chapter of A.B.A.T.E. is holding a bike show Saturday and Sunday at the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Bikes must be in the mall by 10 a.m. Saturday. Potluck and bingo night planned

The Kenai Community Library will host a potluck and bingo night Monday from 6 until 7:30 p.m. to kick off National Turn-off T.V. Week, which runs through April 28. For more information, call the library at 283-4378.

Small farms mini-series concludes

The Kenai Peninsula Cooperative Extension Service is sponsoring the last in a series of small farms workshops. The final two workshops will be held Monday and Tuesday from 7 until 9:30 p.m. at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture building. On Monday, Linda Tannehill will discuss, "Food Preservation and Storage." On Tuesday, Jon Newkirk and Kevin Klair will host a workshop entitled, "Turning Your Time Into Money." For more information, call 262-5824.

Red Cross to hold disaster training

The American Red Cross is recruiting and training volunteers to help in the community during times of disaster. Disaster training will be held April 23, April 30 and May 2. For more information, call 262-4541.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Office of Emergency Management are sponsoring a seminar by Martha Bryan entitled, "How to Conduct Effective Meetings," from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. April 27 at the Borough Administration Building in Soldotna. WRCC offering crisis intervention training

The Kenai-Soldotna Women's Resource and Crisis Center will offer crisis intervention training April 30 through May 3 from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Kenai River Center. Library to host storytelling evening

The Kenai Community Library is sponsoring, "Creating a Family Storytelling Tradition," April 29 at 6:30 p.m. Mike Morgan and Carol Ford will lead participants through the process of developing their own family tradition of storytelling. For more information, call the library at 283-4378.
