Cookout held for teens only

The Boys and Girls Club in Kenai will offer hot dogs and chips for teens only today from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Club members are urged to bring a guest.

Learn to meditate by chanting

An Introduction to Science of Identity class will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bridges in Soldotna. Participants will learn to relax and learn to meditate through chanting.

Soldotna senior raise funds

The Soldotna Senior Center will have a trash and treasure sale and bake sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center.

Benefit, awareness event planned

A event will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tustumena Lodge for the Char Mason Benefit and Breast Cancer Awareness Day. There will be a bidding auction, silent auction, raffle, local musicians and a buffet for $10.

Last chance to dance is Saturday

The last dance of the season for the Kenai River Folk Dancers is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Kalifornsky Beach Elementary School. Admission is $5.

Workshop offered to community

A workshop titled Turning Ideas into Income will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Central Peninsula Mall in Soldotna. The session will target people with new product ideas and feature help from representatives of state organizations, local businesses, assistance programs and experienced local entrepreneurs in areas such as developing prototypes, manufacturing processes, patents, access to venture capital and more. Safari club to offer awards

Alaska's Kenai Peninsula Chapter of Safari Club International is seeking nominations for Young Hunter awards to be announced at the Midnight Sun Dinner and Sportsman fund-raiser auction May 5 at the Soldotna Sports Center. Hunters age 16 and younger are encouraged to submit an application and photo.

High school dance concert

The Nikiski Middle-Senior High School Dance Concert will be held on April 27 and 28 in the school auditorium. Guest dancers will come from Soldotna and Kenai high schools, the North Star Tiniklers and alumni from Nikiski. Tickets will be available at the door. General admission is $8, and admission for students and seniors is $5.

Groups meet Monday

The Pioneers of Alaska Igloo No. 33 and the Auxilliary No. 16 will meet May 14 at the Kenai Elks Club in Kenai. The meeting will begin with a potluck at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.
