Guided by the conviction that the arts are for everyone, Homer Council on the Arts Director Janet Bowen brought her marimba group to Chapman School. The Chapman Parent Advisory Group established a priority of bringing artistic experiences into the school. The Chapman school will host its volunteer assembly Thursday. Each class will present a poem, song, dance or skit to honor their commitment to students.

Mrs. Nelson's first- and second-graders had a Japanese feast as a culminating activity in their unit on Japan. Parent volunteer Keiko Knisely's Japanese language fluency and cultural experience were integrated into this unit.

Mrs. Window's band students performed during the Mass Band concert at Kenai High School.
