The Kenai Chamber of Commerce 2010 Bowling Tournament has rolled into history with striking results! Over 100 bowlers turned out to try their skills at winning the coveted "Up Your Alley " title, while enjoying a fun-filled evening of games, costumes and prizes at Alaska Lanes in Kenai. "It was pretty much elbow to elbow bowlers, volunteers and characters from across the state. It was a total blast, and we are already eagerly anticipating and considering just what next year's 'Up Your Alley' might bring," said Kenai Chamber executive director Carol Bannock.
Fitting in with the tournament's athletic theme, participants were treated to special guest appearances from local team mascots including Grizz, from the Kenai Peninsula Brown Bears; Scoop, from Peninsula Oilers; the Kardinal, from Kenai Central High School; and Spirit, from the University of Alaska Anchorage and Kenai Peninsula College.
Tailgate party chef, Duane Bannock served up gourmet hamburgers and sausage dogs for all participants. As well the Kenai Chamber raffle drawing resulted in big prizes for those who were bowling-ball-challenged, but were lucky enough to have purchased winning tickets. This year's "Up Your Alley" returning championship team was the "Beacon Bombers" sponsored by Beacon Occupational Health & Safety Services. Second place bragging rights went to HEA's "Brightlights," and in Third Place was the "Strike it Rich" team sponsored by Roy Wells of Waddell & Reed.
