SEWARD (AP) -- The Alaska Vocational Technical Center here has signed a contract to build a $1.7 million ship bridge simulator complex, officials said.

The four-bridge simulator will take about six months to install at the center's First Lake building.

Classes in bridge management, radar observation and rules of the road, among other topics, are expected to start in late fall, the center said.
