Kenai resident Lloyd "Scott" Netherton died Sunday, April 18, 2004, of natural causes at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. He was 43.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 23, at the Church of God in Soldotna. Pastor Alan Humphries will officiate. A reception will follow the service at the church. Additional services will be held in Castle Rock, Wash., at a later date.
Mr. Netherton was born Nov. 19, 1960, in South Bend, Wash. He graduated from Castle Rock High School. He moved to Alaska in 1979 and worked at the Eureka Lodge. He moved to Kenai in 1989 to work for the state at Wildwood Correctional Center as a cook. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and outdoor activities.
The family wrote, "Lloyd Netherton, also known as Scott, will always be remembered in our hearts. He was a loving father to his family and a loving husband to his wife. Scott will be remembered for his loving heart, laughter and love for the outdoors. Dad, your friends and family will never forget who you are and will always remember your best quality, which is love."
Mr. Netherton was preceded in death by William Price Netherton and Inez Jeffers.
He is survived by his wife, Elane Netherton; children, Jade, Holly and Daniel Netherton, all of Kenai; mother, Betty Jean Netherton of Castle Rock; brother, David Netherton of Castle Rock; sisters, Nancy Palmer of Toutle, Wash., Sharon Nelson, Becky Jones, Rose Duke and Kathy Jenkins, all of Castle Rock, and Susan Netherton of Kelso, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be given to the family through AlaskaUSA Federal Credit Union account No. 664943.
