Mrs. Larned's class is getting ready for the Family Fun Night with art and Earth Day activities. Participants will make and take home lots of different projects.

The class enjoyed making clay pinch pots with Stephannie Cox. It was great fun creating interesting designs on the sides of the projects.

Studies of sea life will begin next week in order to get ready for their field trip to the Alaska SeaLife Center on May 3 and 4. Field trip permission forms need to be returned as soon as possible. If there are any questions, call or stop by.

The flower seeds planted last month are beginning to sprout. Students also planted some corn seeds, and the corn plants are huge compared to the flower seedlings.

The class has made graphs to keep track of the food collected during its food drive. So far, the canned vegetable column is the tallest. The food drive is continuing through April.

Mrs. Sotelo's class continues its pencil sale during the lunch break. Students also will host a wildlife fair in the school district central office April 30.

The school will sponsor a math workshop for staff and families from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 29 in the Soldotna Elementary staff development room. R.S.V.P. if you are planning to attend.

Don't forget about Family Fun and Fund Raising on Earth Day. Activities will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday. This will feature many arts and crafts, Earth Day and math estimation activities and is a fund-raiser for upcoming school field trips. Volunteers still are needed.
