The Dream

By Brett van Sickle, Kenai

As I turned my head this morning, and opened up my eyes,

I felt no happy feelings; I saw only stormy skies.

Not knowing what had happened, I forced myself from bed.

I stepped out of the bedroom, with darkness in my head.

I could not see the sun shine, so on knees I dropped to pray.

For a glimpse of what had happened, a light to find my way.

Then suddenly sensation, warmth felt some where near.

Now felt a happy feeling; I was losing all the fear.

Then I started to remember, as the storms cleared from the skies.

So I turned my head so slightly, and opened up my eyes.

Again I saw the sunshine, again I saw the light.

The darkness has all faded, as the ending of this night.

I know now I was dreaming, because sleeping at my side.

Is true love ever lasting, my heart my love my bride.

Now warmth felt deep within me, which radiates from you.

From now until the end of time, our love will forever be true.
