Leonard takes WorldCom title

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. -- Justin Leonard survived some anxious moments Sunday to win the WorldCom Classic, a feat even he considered unlikely just days ago.

Leonard closed with a 2-over 73 for a 14-under 270 total, a stroke ahead of Heath Slocum and two in front of Phil Mickelson. Slocum had a 70 and Mickelson a 71.

NEWTOWNMOUNTKENNEDY, Ireland -- Padraig Harrington beat Jose Maria Olazabal 3 and 2 in the clinching match as Britain and Ireland beat Europe 14 1/2-11 1/2 in the Seve Trophy.

Longs Drugs Challenge

LINCOLN, Calif. -- Cristie Kerr won the Longs Drugs Challenge for her first LPGA Tour title, taking advantage of Hee-Won Han's final-hole bogey.

Kerr, in her sixth full season on the tour at age 24, squandered a five-stroke lead before parring the 18th hole for a 3-over-par 75 and one-stroke victory over Han.
