ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A Dillingham couple was rescued after crashing their plane in the surf, the Coast Guard said.
Brooks Hurley, 51, and Linda Hurley, 55, were rescued over the weekend about 70 miles southwest of Dillingham. Husband and wife were both in good condition and didn't require hospitalization after their ordeal.
The Coast Guard sent a helicopter crew to the crash site late Friday night. About two hours later, the crew found the overturned plane in the water near Cape Constantine.
The Hurleys were spotted on land nearby. They had started a fire to stay warm, according to the Coast Guard.
The couple was hoisted to the rescue helicopter and flown to Dillingham.
