Lecture series helps restless gardeners survive winter

Posted: Tuesday, April 22, 2003

The Central Peninsula Master Gardeners would like to thank all who participated in this season's Winter Lecture Series.

Our speakers, Master Gardener Blythe Campbell, Cheryl Paige from Can o Worms, Deric Marcorelle, Stephanie Cohen and Annie Nevaldine, all contributed to increase our knowledge of composting and beautifying our surroundings. Spring seems long in coming sometimes and sharing gardening information helps us plan for the coming planting season without getting too fidgety.

We would like to thank all who attended the lectures for their input and enthusiasm in continuing the Winter Lecture Series. Without all the Master Gardeners who help out with their suggestions, constructive contacts, cookie baking and volunteering their time and energy, this series would not be possible; hats off to you all.

And, finally, a big thank you goes out to the folks at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association for use of their facilities and the fishermen that support it.

Hope you have a great gardening season and to see you again for the next Winter Lecture Series.
