PERS retirement planning seminar scheduled

Peter Fisher, a retirement representative with the Alaska Public Employees' Retirement System, will present a seminar, "Planning for Retirement," from 10 a.m. to noon today in the assembly chambers of the Borough Building, 148 N. MacDowell to speak at Alliance meeting

Peterson to speak at Homer chamber

Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Superintendent Donna Peterson will speak at the Homer Chamber of Commerce's luncheon meeting at noon today at the Best Western Bidarka. She will address a variety of topics, including the top 10 issues facing the school district, the impact of federal and state legislation and the budgetary implications to Homer schools. PDK to honor outstanding educators

Phi Delta Kappa will hold its "Outstanding Contributions to Education" banquet 6 p.m. today at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road in Soldotna. Cost of the event is $15. For more information, call Cindy Hurst at 283-4826.

EDD speaker to appear at chamber

Andrew Schmahl, Economic Development District project coordinator, will give an overview of EDD, highlighting topics such as the recent Visitor's Industry Summit and tourism in Kenai, at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce's weekly luncheon meeting at noon Wednesday at Paradisos. The Kenai chamber board also will conduct its membership drive Wednesday, beginning at 8 a.m. This is a good time to meet chamber board members and give the chamber some feedback.

Juvenile justice committee to meet

Outdoor club to meet

Johnson Lake Loop bridge to be discussed

Builders association to meet Thursday
