Community's help aids stewardship program

Posted: Friday, April 22, 2005

As the executive director of Youth Restoration Corps, I would like to thank all those people who helped out the YRC Stewardship Ranger Program. As a new arm of YRC, this program is about supporting those in grades kindergarten through 12 in interpretive, hands-on education about Earth's environment.

Through grants and our April 15 dinner auction, the YRC Stewardship Ranger Program was able to contribute $2,800 to the Nikiski North Star Elementary outdoor education camp. Your support is helping fifth- and sixth-grade students who otherwise could not go to camp.

It is with this great appreciation I would like to thank all the wonderful folks who helped: Kenai Merit Inn, Alaska Industrial Hardware, Spenard Builders Supply in Kenai and Soldotna, Fred Meyer, Forrest Woodland, Gallery 25, Harvest Time Charters, Salamatof Seafoods Inc., ConocoPhillips Alaska, Alaska Conservation Foundation, Blaine and Margaret Gilman, Isabelle's Fine Catering Inc., Bob Scott, Audrey Johnson, Gary and Rhoda Dailey, Brian and Teresa Zinck, Wayne Floyd, Jerry and Carol Ralston, Shane and Shanette Wik, Karen and Jack Kester, Ed and Leona Oberts, Paul and Patricia Hartley, John (Ozzie) Osborne, Neal and Diane Deperron, Bob Favretto, Jeff Jefferson, Mattie Ralston, Catherine Toveyou and Gary Dailey Jr.

Your contributions are supporting a worthy cause of promoting stewardship.
