Release terms don't seem fair

Posted: Friday, April 22, 2011

I just finished reading your article about Clarence Helgevold Jr. being released with an ankle bracelet.

I don't get it. I can see it maybe for first-time offenders. But after more than one run in with the law over alcohol violations, he certainly isn't the poster child for this program.

If he had been spanked hard the first or second time around maybe Mr. Larion would still be alive, his wife would still have a husband, his children would still have a father and I would still have a friend.
