Former Kenai resident Roberta Ann (Bobbie Jo) Rutherford died Friday, April 15, 2011, in Tucson, Ariz., from complications due to liver disease. She was 53.
Ms. Rutherford was born Dec. 3, 1957, in Renton Wash., to Kent Rutherford and Angie Westerhauser. She graduated from Lewiston High School, in Lewiston, Idaho.
She worked in Kenai as a bartender.
The family wrote: "She was a kind and gentle person, well liked by all. She loved caring for animals, and enjoyed riding horses. She liked to camp out and spend time in the forests of Alaska, Idaho and Washington. Her wishes were to have her ashes spread in her beloved Kenai."
No services are planned.
Ms. Rutherford was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents Cecilia Sardam and Ray Westerhausen.
She is survived by brothers Sam Rutherford, of Azle, Texas, and Jerry Namchek, of Sherwood, Ore.; neices Kourtney Rutherford, of New York City, and TeriAnne Broyles, of Sumner, Wash..; nephew Billy Maugh, of North Ireland and close friend Billy Glasgow, of Tucson.
Arrangements were made by Angel Valley Funeral Home, of Tucson.
