Echo Lake Superior Meats & Processing Under New Ownership

Posted: Tuesday, April 23, 2002

Echo Lakes Superior Meats & Processing has been under new ownership since June 2001. Jim & Sharon Clark, the principal owners, along with a friend, Randy Yost purchased the business, known to many, as Echo Lake Lockers.

Jim & Sharon have been in the retail/wholesale business all their lives. Jim is active in the business while Sharon and Randy continue their employment elsewhere, yet help out as often as time permits. Jim & Sharon have two children, a daughter Krystle in Southern Oregon University and a son Cody in K-Beach Elementary.

'The new owners took over the business at the start of the busy season, last summer, and since then have been working diligently at upgrading the store on K-beach Road in order to offer a quality meat and processing facility for the retail, wholesale and institutional customers as well as the sport fishing and hunting enthusiasts.

Echo Lake takes pride in what they do and appreciates feedback from our customers on how they can improve their customer service.

The meat product selection has been changed to offer a better quality. From Baby Back Ribs to extra lean hamburger the new quality selection offered at Echo Lake promises to be superior in the marketplace.

Echo Lake has continued with the favored product recipes like the "sought after" Jalapeno Cheese Spread and has introduced many new ones which have been very well received such as the Smoked Salmon Dip, the Teriyaki Pepper Stick and Teriyaki Jerky. Our "double smoked" Turkey, Game Hens, Turkey Drums, Leg of Hams, Bacon and Beef Bacon continue to be popular and their Fresh Corn Beef is a seasonal favorite.

New recipes of smoked or pickled salmon and halibut have been introduced along with smoked Polish Reindeer Sausage. Having a license to buy directly from the commercial fishermen and upgrading their processing facility assures customers a fresh and quality product.

On Saturday, April 27th Echo Lake is having a Customer Appreciation Day. Free hamburgers and soda will be available as Echo Lake says thank you to their existing and new customers. Echo Lake is located between Kenai and Soldotna on K-Beach Road.
