Former Nikiski resident William Wayne 'Bill' Coveyou of Longview, Wash., died Wednesday, April 13, 2011. He was 57.
Memorial services for Mr. Coveyou will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Coveyou was born Sept. 20, 1953, to Gert Frostad and John Coveyou in Lucas, Ohio. He was a graduate of Kenai Central High School.
Mr. Coveyou was an avid hunter, fisherman, gun enthusiast, and artist. He worked for CUBS Transit Co. in Longview.
His family writes, "William Wayne Coveyou went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on April 13, 2011. He loved his job and the people he worked for. Everyone who encountered Bill met a friend. He was loved by family and co-workers alike. Anyone that knew Billy knew he was always happy go lucky, always had a smile on his face, always joking around, and he gave everyone a nickname. He will be missed more than words can say by family and friends."
Mr. Coveyou was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother; children Sarah Coveyou, Rachael Coveyou, Kathryn Coveyou, Anthony Coveyou and Katie Coveyou; grandchildren Kaleb Palmer and Ayden Carson; brother Jim Coveyou; and sisters Deb Coveyou, Virginia Fraase and Carey Edwards; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his closest friend Marty Vaughn -- his "brother from another mother."
