ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Native leader Perry Eaton has joined Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. as corporate relations manager, the company announced Tuesday.

Eaton will work with the company's business unit in Fairbanks where he will focus on strengthening relationships with Native corporations along the pipeline corridor.

''Eaton's extensive knowledge of the people in the Ahtna and Chugach regions will be invaluable to the asset managers who are responsible for maintaining positive relationships with the communities affected by the Trans Alaska Pipeline Systems,'' said Bill Howitt, senior vice president in charge of the Fairbanks Business Unit.

Eaton most recently served as president and chief executive officer of the Alaska Native Heritage Center, which opened in Anchorage last year. Prior to that, he spent over 25 years in finance, banking and development.
