Tool repair offered at SoHi

In honor of Earth Day, Soldotna High School is offering a special "Don't Throw It Away" project.

Garden or hand tools dull? Tool handles broken? Electrical cords or plugs frayed? The Soldotna High School metal and wood shop students will make repairs at cost. Bring items to the SoHi metal or wood shop today, Tuesday or Wednesday between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Shot clinics canceled

The immunization clinic Wednesday at the Kenai Public Health Center is canceled. So is the Thursday clinic at the Soldotna Elks Club. For more information, call 283-4871.

The Homer Public Health Center will not have any shot clinics Monday through Friday. For more information, call (907) 235-8857 or (800) 770-8857.

Soldotna watershed group to meet

Anyone interested in the Soldotna Creek drainage is invited to the Soldotna Creek small watershed group meeting Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Peninsula Internal Medicine Building, 247 N. Fireweed in Soldotna.

The topics will include protecting well water; what is needed to maintain or enhance the presence of salmon in the Soldotna Creek; how to better take care of the water near your property; and how the borough's proposed 50-foot stream buffer will affect you.
