WASILLA (AP) -- Contract talks between the Matanuska-Susitna School District and its teachers' union have recessed.
Negotiating teams with the district and the Mat-Su Education Association had been working with an independent arbitrator.
District spokeswoman Kim Floyd said arbitration will resume May 28, but both sides could return to the bargaining table before then.
Barb Morris of the Mat-Su Education Association said teachers were disappointed that they were unable to complete arbitration, but said they look forward to resuming talks.
