A unique periodic table of 81 of the 118 elements is on display in the commons at the Kenai Peninsula College. Thanks to members of the Alaska Chapter of the American Chemical Society who conceived the idea for a portable periodic table of elements and contracted with an English company to build the table.
The idea was to use the portable periodic table as an educational tool available to the people of Alaska.
In February, the periodic table was donated to the University of Alaska Anchorage and made available to KPC shortly thereafter. Further details and pictures of the periodic table can be found at acs-alaska.org. Science teachers interested in using it in their classes may contact me at 262-3908.
