Library isn't just a silly place to be

Posted: Friday, April 25, 2008

The Kenai Community Library staff would like to thank KSRM and the participants of our first Silly Song contest. These brave songwriters: Robert Romig, Glenda Graham and Geoann Reichert and Larry Hull shared their original lyrics filling the library with smiles and laughter. Congratulations to winner Larry Hull for his song, "Kenai Stan," which was aired on KSRM radio April 15.

We also would like to thank musicians Antonio Sandoval and Ramon Carreon for providing traditional Mexican guitar music during our recent foreign language open house. Their beautiful and soothing music was the perfect accompaniment to the many activities taking place during the open house.

Paul Tornow has been donating his time at the library teaching others the joy of fly-tying. Thanks, Paul, for passing your knowledge and love of fishing to community members of all ages.

Thanks to all the talented people in our community who are willing to share their talents with others. You make Kenai a wonderful community for all of us.
