KENAI (AP) -- A Sterling man is facing various charges stemming from a new argument over an old dispute about money.
Philip Barnholdt, 44, is charged with attempted murder, assault and misconduct in connection with the incident early Tuesday, Alaska State Troopers said.
Troopers said they got a call about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday from Stan Jeffers, 45, of Sterling. Troopers said Jeffers told them that Barnholdt came to his house and called for him to come out.
When Jeffers opened the door, he reportedly saw Barnholdt holding a gun. Jeffers closed the door around the same time a shot was fired. Troopers said two more shots might have been fired soon after.
Barnhold ran from the scene, but authorities found him several hours later at his home. Barnhold was arrested and taken into custody.
Troopers said a disagreement over money led to the incident.
