Theater camps planned for summer
Youth Theatre Camps for ages 5 to 14 will be held in June and July. A variety of camps are scheduled, including Theatre Play, Junior Skills Camp, Skills Camp and a Play Writing Seminar. Applications are available through Community Schools in Homer or call (907) 235-7333.
Applications are due by May 18. Returning campers can guarantee their slot by returning their application by May 4.
Also, Pier One Theatre's annual Work Day will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There are jobs for all ages and skill levels. Call Laura Norton at 235-6318 for details.
Pier One auditions planned
Scripts are available for 48-hour checkout at the Homer Public Library for "The Curious Savage" and "Art." These shows will run consecutively in June and July at the Pier One Theatre on the Homer Spit.
"The Curious Savage" has roles for five males and five females, late teens and older. Auditions will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Mariner Theatre.
Auditions for "Art," with roles for three men, will be in May.

Arts festival planned
The Festival 2001 will be held May 18 through May 27 in Juneau. The festival will offer various concerts with special guests, including Linda Rosenthal, Charlie Hunter and Douglas Webster.

Theater conference planned
The ninth annual Last Frontier Theater Conference will be held June 16 to 23 at the Prince William Sound Community College in Valdez. The conference will feature Edward Albee, Lloyd Richards, John Guare, Lawrence Sacharow, Patricia Neal, Stockard Channing and Arnold Wesker.
The week will be filled with daily play labs, panels, workshops, evening entertainment and a Saturday night gala.
