The conference is the ninth of 24 that will be offered in locations around the country and is designed to help communities become better prepared for the threat of wildfires. About 100 people from around the state, home builders to firefighters, are participating in the three-day conference.

"The success of these programs is the variety of the people attending," said Dan Bailey, the National Firewise Communities Workshop coordinator.
