Kenai Landing is topic at chamber

SoHi after-prom committee to meet

The Soldotna High School parents of juniors will meet at 6 p.m. today in the commons at the school. Parents of juniors are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 262-1468 or 262-9751.

United Way board meeting planned

The Kenai Peninsula United Way board of directors will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the board room at Homer Electric Association in Kenai. It is open to the public. For more information, call 283-9500.

Food program offered

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula will participate in the Summer Food Service Program at the Kenai and Homer clubhouses. Meals will be provided to children at no charge. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age or disability.

Meals will be provided Monday through Friday at the Kenai clubhouse May 31 through Aug. 19. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

KCHS after-grad meeting set

The Kenai Central High School after-graduation activities committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the teachers lounge.

Preschool fund-raiser slated

The Kenaitze Cuya Qyut'anen Head Start will hold a garage and bake sale fund-raiser from 9:30 to 5 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Family House on Willow Street in Kenai. Proceeds will benefit classroom activities.

Sears to host carnival

Sears Elementary School will host a school carnival fund-raiser from 5 to 8 p.m. May 6 at the school on Forest Drive in Kenai. Prizes, games and food are some of the planned activities. Proceeds will help pay for end of the year field trips.

Krispie Cremes selling for kicks

The Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club, Riverhawks team will sell Krispie Creme doughnuts at 7 a.m. May 7 at Kaladi Brothers in Soldotna. There will be a limited supply. The cost is $10 a dozen.

The proceeds will help fund a trip to Denver in June to compete in a regional soccer competition.

WalkAmerica to benefit March of Dimes

The March of Dimes WalkAmerica will host its annual walk at 10 a.m. May 7 at Home Depot parking lot. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Community members interested in participating can register at or pick up a form at Tesoro Alaska or call (800) 478-5245.

Peace, justice group forming

Community members interested in peace and justice are invited to an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. May 10 at River City Books. Participants are encouraged to bring their concerns and ideas for discussion. For more information, call Mary Jo at 262-5447.

Pop Warner huddle planned

The Kenai Peninsula Football and Cheer Association will meet at 7 p.m. May 12 at Soldotna Middle School. The topic will be the upcoming football and cheerleading season. All members are encouraged to attend.
