Area chambers set schedules

· The Nikiski Chamber of Commerce will not meet this week. For more information on future meetings, call Judene at 776-5551.

· The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House in Soldotna. The presentation will be on the Kenai Watershed Forum. For more information, call Michelle at 262-9814.

· The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Wednesday at Paradisos in Kenai. The presentation will be on the Kenai Watershed Forum. For more information, call 283-7989.

Canned food drive events planned

A “Pint Size Workshop” cooking class is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Allen and Peterson Cooking and Appliance Center in Kenai. The class will teach students how to make strawberry shortcakes.

Cost of admission to the class is two cans of nonperishable food or a $2 donation to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank.

SBA changes location, hosts loan fair

The Small Business Development Center has moved from Suite 16 of the Red Diamond Center to Suite 12. The SBA will host a opening ceremony with refreshments from 1:30 to 3 p.m. today, followed immediately by a community express loan fair. The fair will teach participants about applying for unsecured business loans from $5,000 to $50,000.
