As the building season arrives Spenard Builders Supply (SBS) brings together a host of their suppliers with local contractors for Alaska's largest building products show. Last Wednesday at the Soldotna Sports Center over 68 vendors greeted 150 some contractors at the annual event. "We offered informational classes all day and then opened up the show from 4:00 - 7:00pm where 200 some contractors came out to visit a wide variety of vendor booths where company representatives and product experts were on hand with information and displays of the latest products and advancements the industry has to offer," explained Rick Abbott SBS branch manager.
Now in its 13th year Laura Hogan, SBS regional marketing manager organizes the annual contractor's show that is held on progressive days in Fairbanks, Wasilla, Kenai Peninsula, and Anchorage, April 18-21. "With the advancement in building material technology contractors today can focus on energy efficiency and high performance building practices while keeping an eye on the customer's bottom line. At SBS we bring the best together for the professional contactor so they can better serve their clients," said Hogan.
"They were here today to teach, train, and help folks learn more about their products that are available at SBS. Everything from ceiling products to millwork to treated wood and Alaskan produced insulation products made from recycled materials that no longer end up in the landfills. There was everything here you could imagine," said Abbott.
Stewart Crist, SBS area vice president was present to greet contractor, express his appreciation for their business and draw the grand door prize of a $250 dollar Cabela's gift card complete with order catalog that was won by Dave Buntz of Sterling Custom Homes. Vendors from Hitachim, Schlage, Azek Building Products, Trex, Johns Mansville, Grip-Rite, Custom Leather Craft, DeWalt, Stanley, Exchange A-Blade, and many others also had door prizes that consisted of everything from products to SBS gift cards.
"We'll be at the Builders Show April 30th-31st and of course we handle the products of all the vendors that were here today.
We're seeing a lot of early interest at the store already for building jobs of all sizes so it looks like a pretty good year for us ahead, and we invite everyone to come in and visit us at the Builders Show," added Rick Abbott.
