Kids activities sought

The Peninsula Clarion is seeking information on summer programs for kids for its Just Kidding section. Nonprofit or for-profit classes, programs, entertainment, exercise, vacation Bible school, camps and other activities are acceptable. Deadline for submission is Tuesday. Basketball camp a slam dunk

The Friday Night Shootout basketball series will be held from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Fridays through May 19 at Skyview High School in Soldotna. Sessions will include 45 minutes of instruction and one hour of organized scrimmage game time. Camp is limited to 40 players. The cost of admission is $10 per session. Spaghetti feed, dessert auction set to dish

The Kalifornsky Beach Elementary PTA will host a spaghetti feed and baked goods auction today at the school. Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. followed by the auction. Proceeds will help defray the medical bills of the Chris Beeman family, after Chris suffered a massive heart attack. The cost of admission is $5 per person or $20 per family.

Cancer fundraiser meeting slated

The will be a Relay For Life meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Central Peninsula General Hospital in the Illiamna Room. For more information, call 262-6656

Beekeepers are buzzing

BeeKeeper’s Educational Exchange on the Peninsula (B-KEEP) will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Soldotna Middle School. The topic will be hiving bees and summer meeting plans. For more information, call Ray Southwell at 335-2833 or Rosy Thompson at 262-6084.

The 911 advisory board will meet at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday in Conference Room B at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Building in Soldotna. It is open to the public. National Day of Prayer services set

The 55th annual National Day of Prayer will be observed Thursday at the following locations: noon at the flagpole outside of the Legislative Affairs Building, 145 Main Street; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Church of God, 105 Redoubt Ave., Soldotna; 9 a.m. to noon at the Kalifonsky Christian Center, 41342 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Soldotna; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Soldotna Bible Chapel, 300 W. Marydale, Soldotna; and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Soldotna.

KPC plans one-day closure

Kenai Peninsula College will be closed May 5 for a faculty and staff end-of-academic year meeting.
