Area nonprofit agencies gathered at the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank Wednesday to pick up their share of office supplies, computers and furniture donated by Phillips Alaska.
The company donated 80 surplus computers, stacks of tables, garbage cans, file cabinets and boxes full of extra office supplies such as staples, paper clips, notebooks and dividers.
"It's all surplus equipment and computers we weren't using that we brought to give away, to give it a second life," explained Phillips employee Melissa Wanamaker.
Area agencies signed up for their share of the furniture and computers, while the office supplies were available on a first come-first serve basis.
Some of the agencies receiving donations included area churches, schools, senior centers and crisis centers.
