Time to ante up for poker tourney

The Soldotna Elks Lodge No. 2706 will host a Texas Hold 'Em Tournament beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the lodge. There is no cost. Prizes will be awarded. It is limited to 150 people. For more information or to register, call 262-27806.

Cinco de Mayo celebration set

Soldotna Community Schools, Cannettic Energy, Fitness Haven and Dance Academy and Don Jose's of Soldotna will host an "in anticipation of Cinco de Mayo" craft fair from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the multipurpose room at Soldotna Middle School.

The Soldotna Community Schools adult band will perform and concessions, including coffee and snacks, will be available for purchase. A variety of craft projects for kids grades kindergarten through sixth will be available, as well as Spanish language games, Latin dance lessons and more. Admission is free. Spaghetti feed fund-raiser slated

The Nikiski Cook Inlet Lions will host a spaghetti feed, auction and quilt raffle fund-raiser from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. The proceeds will benefit Nikiski resident Penny Alberti, who is undergoing cancer treatment. The cost is $7 per person.

Free skate day ready to roll

The Soldotna Elks Lodge No. 2706 will host at free skate day in honor of National Kids Week from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Alaska Great Skate Roller Rink in Soldotna. Games, giveaways and door prizes are some of the planned activities. Free candy will be given to the first 125 kids. For more information, call 262-7974.

Health care coverage to be discussed

Bridges Community Resource Network and a coalition of concerned community organizations will hold a forum on access to health care on the Kenai Peninsula at 6 p.m. Monday at the Soldotna Sports Center. Refreshments will be served.

Skyview after-graduation committee to meet

The Skyview High School after-graduation committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays in the commons at the school until graduation. Volunteers are still needed. The topics will be volunteer scheduling, activity planning and party preparations. Parents of seniors are encouraged to attend.
