After-grad committee seeks volunteers

Soroptimists to meet

Soroptimist International of the Kenai Peninsula will hold its monthly business meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Building in Soldotna. For more information, call Brenda Northup at 262-6458.

Steak dinner fundraiser planned

The Sterling Senior Citizens Center will hold a steak dinner with all the trimmings from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the center. The cost is $12.50 per person. For more information, call 262-6808.

Adult soccer set to kick-off

The Kenai Recreation Center will hold adult soccer nights from 8 to 10 p.m. Fridays beginning this week. The cost is $2 per player. For more information, call 283-3855.

Kids’ water safety set to make a splash

Safe Kids Kenai Peninsula will hold a water event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Skyview High School pool entrance. Children ages 4 to 14 may attend.

Topics will include personal flotation devices, safe boat loading, cold-water immersion, river safety and other important topics. Parents or caregivers must attend with children. Children should bring bathing suits and towels. Individually fitted children’s Mustang personal flotation devices will be available for sale for $10.

KPC plans one-day closure

Kenai Peninsula College will be closed May 11 for a faculty and staff academic meeting.
