Man killed by car in McGrath

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A McGrath man was killed early Saturday after being struck by a car, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Glen Hanway was pronounced dead at 3:35 a.m. at the McGrath Health Center.

Troopers said Hanway died of massive head injuries.

Trooper Dixy Spencer said Hanway was riding his bicycle home from a local bar when he was struck by a passing car.

The incident is under investigation. Troopers said alcohol was a factor in the crash.
