Spring cleanup bags are in

The Soldotna and Kenai chambers of commerce, along with Peninsula Sanitation, are helping the community clean up. Cleanup bags are available at both chambers Monday through Saturday; they are free and 10 are available at a time. The bags will be picked up along main roadways today through Saturday by Peninsula Sanitation. For more information, call the chambers at 262-9814 or 283-7989.

Boys and Girls Club registration begins

The Boys and Girls Club will be registering for summer programs from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the club in Kenai.

Summer programs include dance, karate, theater, soccer and summer clubhouse. For more information, call 283-2682.

Safari Club to meet

Alaska's Kenai Peninsula Chapter of Safari Club International will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Don Jose's Restaurant in Soldotna. A meeting to recap the April 22 fund-raiser will start at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting is open to the public.

Small agriculture forum held

The "Harvesting Our Own" forum will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association building for those interested in development of small agriculture and nontraditional natural resources. The forum also will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Homer City Hall. A product display will begin at 6:30 p.m. both evenings.

The forum is open to the public. For more information or to register, call 283-7493. The forum is sponsored by the Kenai Peninsula Resource Conservation and Development District.

Chamber luncheon planned

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be held at noon Wednesday at Paradisos Restaurant in Kenai. The guest speaker will be Bekkie Jackson with Sears Elementary School and teen leaders who received a grant from the Division of Health and Social Services from Emery University, Ga., for postponing sexual involvement.

The meeting is open to the public.

Computer classes offered

The PCI Skills Resource Center is offering a class on Basic Skills Computers at 12:30 p.m. and a workshop on Internet Works -- e-Commerce at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the center.
