ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The search continued Monday for a man from the Yukon River village of Oscarville who disappeared after a weekend hunting trip.
Alaska State Troopers said Michael Little, 50, was ptarmigan hunting a few miles from the village Saturday with two other people.
His hunting companions said Little left them early and should have been back in the village by about 10 p.m. Saturday. But when they reached the village at about midnight, Little had not yet returned.
A search was launched and snowmachine tracks were found leading to open water in the river. Little's hunting companions said his snowmachine did not have a working headlight.
Searchers from of Napaskiak and Oscarville spent Sunday and Monday dragging the river.
