Soldotna Community School is celebrating its 25th anniversary of community education.
Below is a list of classes/activities that begin this week, to serve as a reminder to registered participants. If you are interested in a class or activity but are not pre-registered, please call the Soldotna Community School office to check on space availability, location changes and cancellations.
If you need to pick up a Community School brochure, extras are available at the Soldotna and Kenai public libraries and the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. For more information, call 262-6768.
No Gentlemen's Basketball on Tuesday or May 8, at Soldotna Middle School, due to school concerts
Clam Digging: Class taught by Patti Berkhahm, Fish Tech 3, Alaska Department of Fish and Game -- Life cycle of clams, where, when and how to dig. Cleaning and preparation for cooking.
Tonight's class will be followed by a gathering on the beach on May 6 at Clam Gulch. Soldotna Middle School, room 1, 7 to 9 p.m., one night, all ages, $5.
n Summer Camp (July 9 through August 3) and Youth Fine Arts Institute (June 9 through 16) registration/information forms will be delivered to schools this week.
n We are taking early registration for Palm/Handspring (handheld computer) beginner classes on May 8, and May 9 or 10 for intermediate classes.
The beginner class, located at Soldotna Elementary School library and computer lab, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., will provide a Palm (loaded via software, for your use), $25.
Please bring your Palm to the intermediate classes, hosted by Soldotna Middle School, from 6 to 9 p.m., $40 per evening.
