KODIAK (AP) -- An Anchorage man was arrested at the Kodiak airport over the weekend after officers found more than a quarter of a pound of cocaine in his possession, Kodiak police said.

Jeremia V. Seui, 34, was arrested Sunday after narcotics officers found he was carrying 4.4 ounces of cocaine, police said. The drug has an estimated street value of $11,000, according to detectives.

Seui was arrested on a charge of third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.

The investigation began when detectives received information from Crime Stoppers reports that Seui would be traveling to Kodiak with cocaine. Arresting officers were part of the Drug Enforcement Unit, a joint venture between the Kodiak Police Department and Alaska State Troopers.
