KENAI (AP) Two women were arrested after authorities say they tried to burglarize a Kenai diner early Friday.
Alaska State Troopers responded to a burglar alarm at the K-Beach Diner at Mile 15 of Kalifornsky Beach Road at 2:30 a.m.
When Sgt. Craig Macdonald arrived, he was charged by Jennifer R. Wilson, 26, of Kenai, who was taken into custody after a brief struggle, troopers said.
A second suspect, Julie M. Wendt, 22, of Kenai, was also arrested. She had two knives, troopers said.
Wilson was arrested on charges of burglary, assault, assault on a police officer and criminal mischief. Wendt was charged with burglary and misconduct involving weapons.
Both were jailed at Wildwood Pretrial Facility.
