Students of the week were Owen Phillips, for showing good sportsmanship; Aaron Julien, for dedication to excellence in written work; Reid Schmelzenbach, for special kindness shown in the classroom; Riley Smithwick, for diligence in schoolwork; and Cody Munn, for leadership in the classroom.

The all-band concert will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the school.

The annual Hershey's Track and Field Competition will be May 9 at at Nikiski Middle-Senior High School for elementary through junior high school students.

The senior high awards banquet will be at CIA on May 9. Parents are welcome to attend. The cost is $5 per person.

Preschoolers have lots of field trips planned for the end of the year. They will be park-hopping on Friday and Monday. Preschool graduation will be at 6:30 p.m. May 12 at Soldotna Bible Chapel . They also will visit the Alaska SeaLife Center on May 16.

The kindergarden through third-graders will have a picnic May 19 at Soldotna Creek Park.

Third-graders listened to beekeeper Dan Skipworth talk about how God uniquely designed bees. They will join the fifth-graders for a trip to H2Oasis in Anchorage this Friday. They also will go to Mrs. Nelson's home for a bonfire and outdoor games on May 8 with the second-graders and to the beach off Cannery Road on May 16. They enjoyed touring the Kenai Fjords, seeing porpoises and sea lions and overnighting at the Alaska SeaLife Center, where they participated in fun science experiments.
