As of 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Mount Redoubt remained on watch , according to the Alaska Volcano Observatory.
Seismic activity remains elevated and has changed little over the past 24 hours. Satellite views show a thermal anomaly consistent with the presence of an actively growing lava dome.
Occasional small rock avalanches are occurring off the north side of the lava dome and these are producing some seismicity and minor low level ash emissions but only in the immediate vicinity of the volcano. Web camera views show a diffuse steam plume rising to about the summit of the volcano. Additional explosive events are possible and can occur with little or no warning
