Bike blessings planned Sunday

The Kenai Peninsula ABATE will host its annual motorcycle blessing at 10 a.m. Sunday at Kenai Christian Center on the corner of the Kenai Spur Highway and McKinley Street. It is open to the public. For more information, call 283-2292.

LeeShore class canceled

The LeeShore Center has canceled its violence support group meeting Friday. All classes will resume Tuesday.

Day of prayer slated

The National Day of Prayer will be observed at the following places May 7: at the flag pole at noon at the Kenai Legislative Affairs Building at 145 Main Street and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Church of God Soldotna at 105 Redoubt Ave. For more information, call Barb Johnson at 283-0200.

Historical society cleans up

The board of directors for the Soldotna Historical Society will meet at 9 a.m. May 9 in the main building on Centennial Park Road in Soldotna. It is open to the public.

The group will hold a spring cleanup with lunch to follow. Volunteers are needed to help. For more information, call 262-4157.

March of Dimes walk set

The annual March of Dimes walk for babies will be held at 10 a.m. May 9 at the Soldotna Sports Center. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Midnight fun event seeks vendors

North Peninsula Recreation is accepting booth applications for the Family Fun in the Midnight Sun event. Nonprofit and for-profit organizations may have booths. Booths can range from food, carnival/game, political and informational to crafts and sales.
