Caring for the Kenai winners announced
The following Kenai Peninsula high school students won awards in the 2006 Caring for the Kenai competition:
Thomas Kircher from Soldotna High School won first place and $1,500 for his “Trash Tarp” idea; second, Michael Bruxvoort, Connections, “River Generating Contraption, $1,000; third, John Chihuly, Ninilchik, “Fixing People Pollution on the River,” $800; fourth, Anna Berger, Ninilchik, “Fish Waste Grinder,” $600; fifth place, Courtney Schnabl and Lauren Wolford, Ninilchik, “Protecting Hali-Buts,” $450; sixth, J.R.
