Resiliency-building classes offered

Central Peninsula Counseling Services will hold a free, eight-week series on resiliency-building classes open to the public.

Positive Parenting when Divorced or Divorcing - part one and two will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today and May 8 in the Redoubt Room at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna. Wiley Snell will instruct. For more information, call 260-3691.

Skyview after-grad party needs help

Skyview’s after-graduation committee meets at 7 p.m. today in the commons at the school. Parents are needed to help with games and food booths. For more information, contact Sandra at 260-9090 or Sherry at 262-1690.

Re-Group to meet again

The recycling organization Re-Group will have its last meeting before fall at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the commons at Kenai Peninsula College. The agenda includes updates of the home show, Caring for the Kenai, and plans for next fall. The public is invited. For more information, call Jan at 262-5098.

Day of prayer set

The annual Bible Reading Marathon, sponsored by the International Bible Reading Association and hosted by Love INC of the Kenai Peninsula, is ongoing with individuals from various churches around the peninsula.

Individuals are reading the Bible 24 hours a day in 15-minute segments through the last chapter of the Book of Revelation in preparation for the National Day of Prayer observance at noon Thursday at the Legislative Affairs Building, 145 Main Street Loop in Kenai (near the flagpole).

Soroptimists to meet

Soroptimist International of the Kenai Peninsula will hold its monthly business meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kenai Peninsula Borough Building in Soldotna. For more information, call Brenda Northup at 262-6458.

Elks hold free skate day

The Soldotna Elks Lodge will sponsor a free skate day at Grate Skate Roller Rink in Soldotna from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday for all youngsters in recognition of National Kids Week by the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. For more information, call Dennis Smith at 262-7974.

Dinner, auction to benefit church

There will be a southern-fried chicken dinner and pie auction fundraiser for Kenai Church of God at the Sterling Senior Center on Saturday. Dinner starts at 5 p.m. with the pie auction at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is $9 a plate. For more information, call 262-3888.
