Bambace named new Ford general manager

Bob Bambace has been named general manager of Great Bear Ford, formerly Seekins Ford, in Soldotna.

Bambace worked with Daimler Chrysler Corp. from 1986 until last month, with his final position at Kenai Chrysler Center. Prior to working with Chrysler, he was a district manager with Nissan Motor Corp.

Bambace has lived in Alaska for 11 years, and he currently resides in Soldotna.

CPGH CFO announces resignation

Les Graeff, chief financial officer at Central Peninsula General Hospital since November 2001, announced his resignation effective in August. Graeff said he is returning to Nebraska with his wife and son to be nearer their daughter, who is attending medical school in Omaha, Neb., and is expecting her first child in November.

Hospital administrator Jay Seigfreid said a search for a new CFO will begin immediately.

Edward Jones to host women's investing broadcast

Matt Streiff, the Edward Jones investment representative in Kenai, will host a free investing program for widowed, divorced and never married women on May 7, at 2 p.m.

The program, titled "Taking Charge," will offer single women insight on planning for retirement along with tips on maintaining their independence later in life. The program will also address what financial decisions single women need to be making now.

This live, interactive broadcast is presented at Edwards Jones branch offices nationwide via the firm's private satellite network.

Free small business fair in Anchorage

The University of Alaska Small Business Development Center is excited to announce the second annual Alaska Biz Fair, Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Anchorage. Small-business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to come and participate in this one-day event for free.

Learn about financing, marketing, advertising, e-commerce, insurance and legal matters, to name a few topics. Keynote speaker Tom Egelhoff will expound on his top 25 secrets to generate business.

Small Business Expo to be held in May

The Peninsula Small Business Expo is intended to honor new and expanding small-business owners on the Kenai Peninsula as a part of National Small Business Week. All home-based small business owners, or those with fewer than three years in business, are invited to join in demonstrating their products at a table.

The Expo will be held May 11 at the Peninsula Mall in Soldotna from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Each vendor is responsible for furnishing their own tables and chairs. For more information, contact Lou Collier at 262-7497.
