Kenai's Reilly wins laurels with Seawolves
Jessi Reilly, a 2001 graduate of Kenai Central High School, capped her rookie season with the University of Alaska Anchorage's women's NCAA Division II basketball team by winning a pair of team awards.
Reilly, a 5-foot-3 point guard, received the Best Defensive Player and the Coach's Award. Reilly led the Seawolves in minutes played at 29.6 per game and ranked second on the team in steals with 33.
The defensive award is decided by a team vote while the Coach's Award is bestowed upon the player that best exemplifies hustle and hard work.
Nikiski's Glaze earns all-academic honors
Lindsy Glaze of Nikiski, a junior at Northwest Nazarene University, was one of 12 members of the Crusaders track and field team to be named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.
Glaze, a junior majoring in music, was named to the team based on her 3.32 grade point average.
