A free class on Container Gardening is being offered by the Cooperative Extension Service through the Neighbor to Neighbor program. Wil and Monti Hightower will demonstrate and discuss how to set up your container gardens, what containers work best and box container designs. The class will be held May 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at KPC Room 109. Pre-registration by May 6 is requested. Pet photos can be color or black and white and should be no smaller than 3-by-5 inches. They may include people. Limit one photo per household. The Cardiac Patient Support Group will meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month in the Redoubt Room, located in the lower level at Central Peninsula Hospital. The group invites male and female patients dealing with heart disease and their family members to participate. The La Leche League of Soldotna and Kenai will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month at the Frontier Community Services Playroom in the Red Diamond Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road. The league is a breastfeeding resource group that offers free monthly meetings, mother-to-mother breastfeeding support, telephone assistance and a lending library. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are invited to attend. Babies are welcome.
