Kenai Chamber hosts teen leaders

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce lunch today will feature Bekkie Jackson of Sears Elementary School and teen leaders who received a grant for their program on postponing sexual involvement. The lunch is at Paradisos Restaurant and starts at noon.

Basic computer skill workshop offered

The PCI (People Count, Inc.) Skills Resource Center is offering a class on basic computer skills, beginning today. The center also is offering a workshop on the Internet and e-commerce. For more information, call 283-4099.

Fund-raising luncheon planned in Seward

The second Spring Hat Luncheon to benefit the Providence Alaska Foundation in Seward will be held at the Resurrection Roadhouse on Exit Glacier Road at noon today. Prizes will be given for oldest hat, prettiest hat, hat from farthest away from Seward and several other categories. Tickets are $35. For more information, call 224-3212.

Registration under way for Boys and Girls Club

The Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula is holding registration for its summer programs this week. They include dance, karate, theater, soccer and summer clubhouse. For more information, call 283-2682.

Wings hosts fund-raising dinner, auction

Wings Christian Academy will hold its second annual all-you-can-eat lasagna dinner and auction Friday at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds go to help students attend the School of Tomorrow International Competition in Virginia.

Advance tickets are required and cost $5 per person. Tickets can be purchased from students or at the school, which is at Immanuel Baptist Church, Mile 15 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Trail commission meets Thursday

The monthly meeting of the Kenai Peninsula Borough Trails Commission will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Chapman Elementary School in Anchor Point.

The topics of discussion will include a proposal for community winter trails on public land in Anchor Point and a trailhead proposal for the Baycrest Trail System.

There also will be a brief summary of the public discussion of the Seldovia Lake Trail that took place at the Seldovia City Council meeting April 26, as well as reviews of three petitions to vacate public rights-of-way and classifications of four parcels of borough land will be discussed.

KCHS soccer team to hold garage sale

The Kenai Central High School soccer team will hold a garage sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kenai Middle School. Money raised will be used to buy uniforms for the boys and girls teams.
